Photographing Mark and Rachel's wedding was a complete joy because I got to see one of the girls I discipled marry a devoted, caring young man who loves the Lord and is perfect for Rachel.
When you disciple high school students, you never know what will happen once they graduate high school. If you're lucky, they will keep coming around to talk to you, hang out with you and want you to be a part of their lives. Rachel was one of those girls! When I knew she was going to be engaged to Mark, I offered Mark to take their engagements pictures as a gift, and thanks to Rachel's mom, that turned into a trip to Disney World to photograph the now infamous "Mickey Mouse hometown" engagement photo shoot (see "Mark & Rachel Surprise Disney Proposal- Engagement Pics" under "Portraits" gallery) -- what a whirlwind blast that was!
Then, surprise to me was when they asked me to photograph their wedding! This was only my second wedding (the other was a family wedding), but I had some out-of-this-world help from Dan and Melanie to help me make a fabulous array of images documenting their wedding!
The day was perfect weather for photographing an outdoor wedding -- partly cloudy with no rain, and no horrible humidity (a miracle for a Georgia wedding)! Family members got along, people genuinely had fun (and so did my photography team and me), and overly blessed to see them join their hearts together in marriage.
Take a look at what my "team" and I photographed. Lots of people worked hard to pull everything together for Mark and Rachel to celebrate their special day together.
